Mt Zion Presbyterian Church
Welcome to Mt Zion Presbyterian Church!
Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church is a people created by God believing in Christ as our head and the gift of salvation through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We live in the knowledge of God’s saving grace, which is revealed through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Using our considerable strengths, Mt. Zion strives to be an open, welcoming community, with each member modeling Christ’s behavior.
As individuals comprising the congregation, we believe that our chief purpose is “to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever.” We believe the great ends of our church are the proclamation of the gospel for the salvation of humankind; the shelter, nurture, and spiritual fellowship of the children of God; the maintenance of Divine worship; the declaration and preservation of the truth; the promotion of social righteousness; and the exhibition of the Kingdom of Heaven to the world.
Brief Church Mission Statement:
Through our faith in the knowledge and feeling of God’s abiding love, we seek to:

Provide opportunities to study and learn the Bible and its impact on our lives.
Enable people to be part of the ministry of Mt. Zion through education, service, worship and fellowship.
Cultivate a faithful stewardship that recognizes and promotes proper use of all gifts from God.
Worship, Christian Education, Property, Finance, Mission, Fellowship, and Congregational Care
Prayer Chain, Presbyterian Women’s Circles, children’s message, Vacation Bible School, Men’s breakfasts, community Easter Sunrise Services, Prayer in the Park, Joy Gift, World Day of Prayer, Parish Nursing, and weekly bible study.
A partnership with Anderson County helped us develop a community park across the street from the church with a picnic shelter, walking track and playground, used for worship services, community gatherings and family activities.
Although Mt. Zion is small in size, we touch many lives through mission outreach projects: The LOT Project, “Souper” Bowl Sunday, Church World Service Blanket Sunday, Heifer Project International, Operation Christmas Child, Anderson Interfaith Ministries and Clemson Community Care, American Cancer Society Relay for Life, Clean Start for the homeless population, Hospice of the Upstate, Hearts and Hands Ministry, the Christmas Magi Program, and Safe Harbor, a domestic violence shelter.
The youth group, “Mustard Seeds,” participate in many of these outreach programs, along with our active senior members. Our mission projects impact lives in our local community and internationally, reaching our sister church in Ghana. Community outreach initiatives also involve interfaith services in conjunction with local churches of varying denominations.
Mt. Zion is a community-based church with members who possess many gifts, skills and talents that help the church fulfill its mission. We have a well-educated membership representing a wide range of occupations both professional nd skilled, including teachers, doctors, nurses, business owners, administrators, engineers and farmers. We also have retirees who remain active in community service and volunteerism. This variety of expertise assists Mt. Zion as the church attempts to minister to the physical and spiritual needs of its members and of the community. Volunteers, using their organizational and artistic talents, work hard to coordinate church activities and programs at all levels.
Mt. Zion has an active music program. Our talented organist/pianist provides beautiful music during the worship service, and leads our choir in glorifying God with anthems and special music including Easter and Christmas cantatas.
One of Mt. Zion’s greatest assets is a membership made up of dedicated, caring and resourceful individuals who are willing to give of their diverse talents and time.
Through the grace of ourLord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, we trust in the one triune God, the Holy One of Israel, whom alone we worship and serve.
