Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church (USA) was established in 1832 and the current sanctuary was dedicated in 1886. We are located in Sandy Springs, SC. We are a small church who loves each other and its community We are a welcoming congregation that is eager to learn and serve God through service to others.
Mt. Zion’s vision and mission for ministry is Christ – Service – Community.
In this vision and mission, Christ represents activities related to worship, teaching, and understanding God’s Word in preparation for service to others. Service refers to building upon and using gifts of individual members to proclaim the gospel and demonstrate faithful service to God through “others-oriented” mission in order to bring glory to God. Community relates to Mt. Zion’s work within our community.
Mt. Zion sits near a well-travelled intersection. We seek to build our presence in the community by communicating our basic beliefs and serving as a resource to residents of the Sandy Springs community. In addition, Mt. Zion desires to bring Sandy Springs residents and businesses together to build a strong God-centered community.
For a small Church, Mt. Zion is a busy Church. We live out our vision by serving others through local and international mission outreach. One of the examples of community outreach include our park, the Sandy Springs Community Park which has a walking track, playground, and picnic shelter.
Our pastor is Rev. Allyson Helvie, who was installed as the minister at Mt. Zion on January 21, 2018.
